Sinn Féin TD for Roscommon-Galway Claire Kerrane has said that the Glanbia site (a former bacon factory) must be developed.
Kerrane says she engaged with Glanbia last year and that they advised that an ongoing court case meant nothing could happen on-site, before its resolution.
Kerrane said: “The factory in Rooskey, was at one time, one of the largest Employers in County Roscommon. It has been held up in a long legal battle which will hopefully come to an end later this week.
“We need to know what their plans will be for the site and we need to see it developed for the benefit of the people of Rooskey.
“I will continue to engage and work to see something positive out of this…”
