Celtic see off the Town

Roscommon Town went down to Castlerea Celtic at home as their poor form continued. It was Roscommon who started the brightest in this game and had chances to open the scoring but couldn’t find the finishing touch and it was Celtic who took the lead with a goal from Cooney after some good build up play to go in at half time one nil up. The second half was just as bad for the Town who missed a hat full of chances to get into the game, but an own goal from the Town ended the game which saw the Town drop more home points. Oisin Hession and Jack Earley had outstanding games for the Town and deserved to be on the winning side. U12 PREMIER  DIVISION Ballaghaderreen were too strong for Ballinagare in this game and ran out easy winners with goals from Liam Creaton (2), Darragh Kelly, Sharoze Akram and Seamus Cunniffe. Skyvalley Rovers recoded their first winner of the season with a good win away to Ballymoe with goals from Mark Richardson (2) and Sean Dunne. This result saw Ballymoe lose their 100 percent home record. U12 DIVISION ONE The biggest mover in last week’s round of games was Shiven Rovers under 12 team when they went from fourth to top of Division One with two victories. Their first win was over Glen Celtic with goals from Keith Murphy and a hat-trick from Sean French to seal the win. Next up for Rovers was St John’s Athletic. Rovers were too strong for St John’s and ran out easy winner with goals from Keith Murphy (3) and two goals from Sean French. Moylough 79 had the biggest win then they beat league leaders Strokestown United six one to keep them in the title race. Lough Harps won the local derby game with Castlerea Celtic to go into second place in the league, with goals from Robert Naughton (3) also Cian Cunningham and Damian Callaghan scored for Harps. U12 SECOND  DIVISION  Dunmore Town league leaders beat Cloonfad United to stay three points clear of second place Dysart FC with goals from Jamie Coen, Matthew Reddington (2), Evan Canny (2), Eanna Keating and Eoin O’Mahony to seal the points for the Town. Dysart got their season back on track with a win over Ballymoe Celtic with goals from Eoin Fallon (2), Michael Kelly (2), Donal Kelly and Sean Clogher. Kilkerrin United and Roscommon Tigers played a high-scoring draw. U14 CHALLENGE CUP  Strokestown Town beat Castlerea Celtic with a late goal from Thomas Corcoran to send United into the next round. Roscommon Town and Skyvalley Rovers played a thriller and saw the game go into extra time; Rovers won the game in extra time to go into the next round. Lough Harps over came Ballaghaderreen in this close contest to go into the round with goals from Andrew Hussey (2) and Conner Hussey. U14 CHALLENGE SHIELD Glen Celtic beat Ballymoe FC three two with St John’s Athletic getting the better of Roscommon Tigers. U16 PREMIER  DIVISION Strokestown United took a big step towards winning their third title in a row by beating Ballinasloe Town with a late goal from John McAuliffe to go two points clear at the top. Second place Roscommon Town continue their good form with a win over Skyvalley Rovers to give them a one point lead over third place Ballinasloe Town. Kilkerrin United have an outside chance in the league with a win over Ballaghaderreen and are just six points off the league leaders. U16 FIRST DIVISION Glen Celtic kept up the pressure on the league leaders Cloonfad United with a win over Castlerea Celtic. Cloonfad United, joint leaders and with a game in hand, saw off Ballymoe FC. It was a good week for Lough Harps who recoded their first win of the season with a two one victory over Dysart.
