Don’t be a sitting duck, get out and enjoy the Carrick Water Music Festival! Yes it’s that time of the year again when we commence the count down to the Music Festival that brings a vast array of musical genres, talent and events to Carrick on Shannon. Under the guidance of Artistic Director, Gwendolyn Masin, this summer’s festival promises to be better than ever with jazz, rock, world music, opera, traditional, drama, singing workshops, street entertainers and much more! Proudly sponsored by MBNA, the Festival will be officially declared live when launched on Friday 8th August. The packed programme will then commence on Saturday 9th August with the very familiar and much loved ‘Jazz Lads’ taking to the waters on Moon River. Throughout the week more jazz will be provided by The Original Guinness Jazz Band, you can sample some world music with the Slovak Festival Orchestra, the South American sounds of Lunfardia & Havana Son and the wonderfully talented French singer, Caroline Moreau. You can enjoy a taste of traditional music with a slice of Rock with the ‘Blood Red Mountain Band’ and there will also be a not-to-be-missed big band swing experience with the Black Magic Big Band who delighted audiences when they played to a packed house in 2006. For a very special treat join us for the Key Note Festival Event in the stunningly refurbished Grand Ballroom in The Landmark Hotel. Enjoy a delectable meal and be enthralled for the evening by the stunning vocal ranges of the world famous Veronica Dunne Singers. And still there is more
