Ballintubber Pride of Place The next Pride of Place meeting takes place in the Old School on Thursday July 3rd at 8 30 pm sharp. As judging takes place on July 15th all groups taking part are asked to send representatives to the meeting. Ballintubber Defibrillator Fund Organisers of the Ballintubber Defibrillator Fund this week thanked everyone who has already donated towards the purchase of defibrillators in the area. To date, approximately €7,000 has been raised and the local committee are now in the process of purchasing defibrillators.    It is proposed to hold a further fundraiser on Sunday afternoon, 17th August, weather permitting, to raise extra funds for the insurance and maintenance of the defibrillators. Contributions are always welcome to provide additional units in the area. Work starts at Cordrehid Deputy Frank Feighan (below) and Cllr. Gerry Garvey have welcomed the commencement of work on the Cordrehid Cortober level crossing on Monday last, following their representations to Iarnród Éireann. This was a very dangerous junction for the locals involved in using it and also for the passengers using the service. Daffolid Day 2008 raises €24,000 The total raised by Daffodil Day in Roscommon Town and surrounding areas for 2008 amounts to €24,880. The voluntary co-ordinators of Daffodil Day in Roscommon would again like to thank the generous contributors and our fellow volunteers who made it possible to achieve this large amount. The co-operation of the businesses and the community at large was much appreciated.
