Pearses stranded in Sligo

Coolera-Strandhill shocked hot favourites Padraig Pearses on Sunday when the Sligo champions sensationally won the Connacht Senior Club football title after extra-time.
Pearses led by five points after 38 minutes but they could not close the deal and the Sligo team drew level with a succession of scores before going on to clinch victory in extra-time.
It’s a famous day for Sligo football but a big setback for Pearses, who were entertaining hopes of seriously contending for an All-Ireland title. Coolera-Strandhill won by 1-15 to 1-14.
