Cattle: There was a large entry of stock on offer at last Friday’s special sale of bullocks (September 20th).
Bullocks fetched an average of €3.02 per kilo up to €4.00 per kilo. There was a good entry of dry cows and they made an average of €2.50 per kilo up to €3.13 per kilo. There was a large attendance of customers at the ringside, with online bidders also active.
Dry cows ranged from an average of €2.50 per kilo up to €3.13 per kilo. Sample prices: SIX -840KG -€2090 -€2.49 per kg, CHX- 820KG- €2000- €2.44 per kg, CHX -785KG- €2280- €2.90 per kg, CHX -730KG -€2190- €3.00 per kg, BBX-665KG- €2080- €3.13 per kg, and CHX-615KG -€1750- €2.85 per kg.
Bullocks ranged from an average of €3.02 per kilo up to €4.00 per kilo. Weanlings
There was a smaller entry of quality weanlings on offer at our sale held on Tuesday evening, September 24th, with a strong trade for bulls and heifers. The next sale is Tuesday, October 1st.
Bull weanlings fetched from an average of €3.34 per kilo up to €4.41 per kilo, while heifer weanlings made from an average of €2.99 per kilo up to €3.87. There was a very good attendance of customers ringside with online buyers also active.

Sheep
We had a large number of sheep on offer at our weekly sale of lambs and stag ewes on Wednesday, September 25th. Prices for spring lambs made up to €193 while stag ewes topped out at €228.
Our next sheep sale takes place Wednesday, October 2nd. The yard opens at 8 am and all stock must be penned by 10 am. Please note all sheep must be tagged with a full yellow EID tag set. The sale can be viewed live on livestock-live.com.
