Davy Burke’s Roscommon team find themselves in a difficult group after the draw for the Sam Maguire All-Ireland group stages was made this afternoon.
They have been drawn into Group Two alongside the Leinster winners (either Dublin or Louth), the Connacht runner-up (either Galway or Mayo) and Cavan.
Given their current form, it is hard to see Dublin losing to Louth in the Leinster final and, regardless of who wins Connacht, Galway or Mayo will provide formidable opposition as the second seed in the group.
Roscommon will face the Leinster champions away in their opening game, meaning that a trip to Croke Park could be on the cards if Dublin beat Louth. That game is scheduled to be played on the weekend of the 25th/26th of May.
Their second match will be played at home in Dr Hyde Park against the Connacht runner-up, so either Galway or Mayo, on the weekend of 1st/2nd of June and finally, Davy Burke’s men will face Cavan in a neutral venue on the weekend of the 15th/16th of June.
Full fixture details will be confirmed by the C.C.C.C after the provincial finals have taken place
