The accessibility of the site from all areas of County Roscommon is expected to encourage large numbers to attend. Competitions on the day will include senior, junior and underage classes, as well as horse, vintage and lay ploughing. Entertainment on the day will be provided by the local Comhaltas group and there will also be amusements for children such as bouncing castles, slides and other sideshows. The model farm display and exhibition will bring to life farming days of yesteryear and this year’s display includes a blacksmith, wood turner, wheel maker, tin smith and other by-gone skills. Also, Macra will be there in big numbers to battle it out in the farm tasks competition. The Rose of the Plough event will also take place on the day, raising money for lots of local charities.
