Funding welcomed

An allocation of over €6 million for water infrastructure in the county was welcomed this week by Senator Terry Leyden.             The breakdown of expenditure under the 2007 programme for County Roscommon is as follows: €5,100,000 for new water treatment plants for Group Water Schemes, €100,000 for the takeover of group water schemes by the local authority, €563,000 for new group water schemes and upgrading of existing schemes, €750,000 for small public water and sewerage schemes. Senator Terry Leyden described this as a great infrastructural boost for County Roscommon.
