Keadue wins top award

Keadue has scooped another prestigious award, being honoured with the ‘Ireland’s Best Kept Village’ prize this week.

The north Roscommon gem was among 13 towns/villages selected out of a 750 entries from the 32 counties to go forward for the competition.

Keadue was announced as the winner in the village category by Minister for Rural Economic Development Ann Phelan at a presentation ceremony in Farmleigh House, Phoenix Park, on Tuesday.

This is merely the latest in a long line of awards for the village, which won the national TidyTowns competitions in 1993 and 2003.
