Hyde Park could host World Cup rugby game – Leddy

The President of Connacht Rugby, Roscommon town resident Adrian Leddy, has raised the possibility that Dr. Hyde Park could host a game in the 2023 World Rugby Cup should Ireland’s bid to host the tournament be successful.

In an interview in this week’s Roscommon People, Mr. Leddy – a long-time Creggs RFC stalwart – says: “We have a major job on in our bid to host the Men’s World Cup in 2023 and all the sporting organisations will be involved in that.

“Locally it would be great if the Dr Hyde Park grounds were developed in time for that, so we could bid to host at least one game. That would be a huge thing for the local economy and the local game too.”

Mr. Leddy’s one-year term as Connacht Rugby President will end in mid-July.
