Padraig Pearses produced a superb display to defeat Galway champions Corofin in front of a huge crowd at Tuam Stadium on Sunday.
Pearses did all the damage in the opening half when they blitzed the Galway men. Paul Carey scored a magnificent goal in the 11th minute and by half-time the Roscommon champions led by 1-8 to 0-3.
Corofin were marginally better in the second half but Pearses were far enough ahead and sub Jack Nevin completed a famous win with a second goal in the 60th minute. Pearses now face Mohill in the semi-final next weekend.
Final score: Pearses 2-10 Corofin 0-10.
