Seventy-seven students recently received their certificates after successfully completing the Level 6 Specific Purpose Certificate in Farm Administration (‘Green Cert’) Course in Teagasc Longford/Roscommon.
This course is offered locally on a part-time basis to young farmers over 23 years of age.
The course participants formed two distinct groups; those pursuing the Distance Education route or the alternative conventional route.
Those who received certificates were drawn, in the main from Roscommon, Longford and neighbouring counties.
Two students were selected for special awards on the basis of their outstanding achievement, namely Joe Kearns, Carrowcully, Boyle, Co. Roscommon, who won the FBD student of the year and Rachel Morgan, Crosswell, Creggs, Co. Roscommon, who became the inaugural winner of the Oliver Burke memorial award.
Teagasc acknowledges FBD’s continuing sponsorship, support and positivity towards agricultural education.
