Friday, July 24th: There were increased numbers this week. Prices are holding well with the trade for dry cows and heifers slightly improved from the previous week. Quality-type bullocks were a good trade with lesser quality lots a little easier. There was a good demand and a high clearance of lots particularly for heifers and dry cows.
Date for your diary is the Show and Sale of autumn born weanlings which will be held on Tuesday August 11th at 5 pm. A special sale of bullocks and heifers takes place on Friday August 14th at 11 am.
New booking arrangement: Please note as and from 1st August bookings for all special sales will be accepted up to 5 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays the week prior to the sale. The draw for the pens will take place on Thursday at 5 pm. e.g. bookings for weanling sale on 11th August will be accepted on Tuesday 4th August, Wednesday 5th August and Thursday 6th August. Draw for pens on Thursday August 6th.
New draw system for starting pen on sale Days: The draw for the starting pen will be made at 10.45 am on Fridays and 4.45 pm on Tuesdays. The first number drawn will be the starting pen and a second draw will be made to determine whether the draw will go up or down.

Sheep Sale, Wednesday 29th July: There was another large entry of sheep this week. The trade for lambs was a little easier with average prices back by €2 per head. The price for cast ewes was on par to last week. Weekly sales for sheep continue on Wednesdays at 11 am. Please note ewe lambs will be sold separately to wether/ram lambs.
Commencing Wednesday August 5th the draw for the starting pen will be held at 10.45 am. A second draw will take place to determine whether the draw will go up or down.
Dates for your diary: Breeding ewes sales commence on Saturday August 8th, show and sale of pedigree suffolk sheep on Wednesday August 12th, show and sale of pedigree charolais sheep on Saturday August 15th, show and sale of pedigree texel sheep on Saturday August 22nd, show and sale of pedigree vendeen sheep on Saturday August 29th.

Thursday 23rd July: There were 700 animals on offer this week. The prices for the quality continental stores held firm, while the increased numbers of lesser quality stores coming for sale met a slightly easier trade.
Breeding stock and weanlings recorded prices similar to previous weeks with a very strong trade reported from the weanlings rings. The dry cow trade also remained firm.

Cows with calves at foot made from €1230 to €2440 for a Ch cow and her bull calf at foot. Springers made from €1000 to €1400 per head. Calves: Calves made from €205 to €740 for stronger continental type calves.
