An unexpectedly heavy fall of snow this morning has caused travel disruption across county Roscommon and other local areas.
The council are currently out gritting the roads in a effort to make the main roads safe.
It is set to turn into sleet later in the afternoon but roads, especially minor roads, could remain dangerous so road users are urged to take extreme care while travelling.
