Leaving Cert students in Roscommon and across the country are set to receive their college offers from the CAO on Wednesday the 30th of August, five days after the Leaving Certificate results are issued.
Head of Communications for the Central Applications Office Eileen Keleghan announced the news earlier today saying “the CAO and Higher Education Institutions would endeavour to complete the offer allocation process and issue offers in a similar timeframe to previous years, as soon as Leaving Certificate data becomes available.”
The CAO have also reminded applicants that the “Change of Mind” facility to add and change course choices closes on the 1st of July at 5pm.
Today’s announcement from the CAO comes after yesterday’s news that the results of this year’s Leaving Certificate exams will be published on Friday the 25th of August.
Announcing the date on Wednesday afternoon, Minister for Education Norma Foley said it represented “a significant and very welcome step towards pre-pandemic norms”.
The SEC (State Examinations Commission) will hold a second sitting of the exam for candidates unable to participate in the main exams due to bereavement or major illness or injury sometime between the exams in June and the issuing of results in late August.
Minister Foley added that while the system was progressing towards normality after the disruption to teaching and learning during the Covid pandemic, she was “pleased to be able to give this clarity and certainty to students”.
