Meath rallies in Second Half to secure win over Roscommon

Roscommon footballers slumped to a disappointing seven-point defeat against Meath in Navan on Sunday. Final score: Meath 2-18 Roscommon 0-17. In front of a huge crowd Roscommon had the aid of the strong wind in the opening half but they couldn’t establish enough of a lead against the home side who tackled ferociously and tied up the Roscommon forwards for the most part. At half-time Roscommon led by 0-11 to 0-7. But the tide turned six minutes into the second half when the Royals struck for two goals within 40 seconds from Sean Coffey and Ronan Jones and Roscommon couldn’t recover after that. Roscommon now travel to face Cork in a crucial game next Saturday night.
