“We were delighted to win the county final but we played a league game since and we were beaten in that so that brought us back down to earth. We also have a couple of niggly injuries and Gary Cox and Ruaidhri McTiernan are receiving treatment this week and hopefully they will be able to line out.
“We didn’t pass any heed on the Connacht Championship at all until the last week or two. We were very focussed on winning the county title because we hadn’t won it for a few years.

“We didn’t pass any heed on the Connacht Championship at all until the last week or two. We were very focussed on winning the county title because we hadn’t won it for a few years. It was only a few days after the county final that we sat down and looked at who we might be playing.
“I saw St Brigids against Melvin Gaels and I was very impressed with them. Melvin Gaels stuck with them for twenty minutes or so but Brigids took over after that and they look a really good side.
“They have so much experience behind them. They have won two Connacht titles in a row and have been to an All-Ireland final so it will be a huge task for us on Sunday and we realise that.
“It is an advantage to be playing at home but we will need to play at the top of our game if we hope to win this game in Sunday. Having said that we are looking forward to it and if would could play well on the day we might well be there or thereabouts.”
