]]>The fatal accident happened yesterday evening (Thursday) at his farm.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the incident on Thursday evening, July 18th shortly after 7 pm where a male in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been removed to Roscommon Hospital where a post-mortem will take place.

]]>His successful stint in charge of the team has seen them, most recently, secure promotion to Division Two for next season along with making it to the Division Three league final earlier this year.
Unfortunately the season came to an end when Roscommon lost out narrowly to Leitrim in last Sunday’s All-Ireland IFC quarter final.
The Roscommon LGFA released a statement this afternoon saying: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce Ollie Lennon’s decision to step down as Roscommon Ladies Intermediate Football Manager after three years in charge.
“In that time he led Roscommon to the Connacht Intermediate Football Championship title in 2023 and the All-Ireland Division 3 league title in 2022.
“Roscommon LGFA wish to thank Ollie for his service, for the tireless work put in by him and his management team the last three years. His work as a manager and an ambassador for the game, went above and beyond.
“We wish Ollie and his management team the best of luck in all their future endeavours.
“Roscommon Chairperson Declan Walsh thanked Ollie and his management team and wished them the very best of luck going forward.
“The process of discussing the appointment of a new manager will begin.”

Daly slots into the half-back line and Ultan Harney pushes up into the half-forward line.
Roscommon’s top scorer Diarmuid Murtagh will be hoping to keep his wonderful scoring streak going, deservedly retaining his position at centre half-forward.
Roscommon and Armagh throw-in at 4 pm on Saturday with the game been shown exclusively on GAAGo.

]]>The draw took place on RTÉ this morning and confirmed the four All-Ireland quarter-finals which are set to take place this coming weekend in Croke Park.
Roscommon’s historic two-point victory over Tyrone last Saturday means that they will now face Armagh while else where in the draw Galway will take on Dublin, Donegal will face Louth and Kerry play Derry.

]]>Davy Burke’s men finished third in group two after a defeating Cavan in a high-scoring match on Saturday evening which guaranteed them a place in the preliminary round.
Mayo have been handed a home tie against Derry after playing out a draw with Dublin in Dr Hyde Park yesterday, while Galway will face Monaghan.
All fixtures will take place next weekend but details have yet to be confirmed.

]]>Out of the eighteen elected, there are six new councillors filling the six seats left vacant by the retiring councillors: Gareth Scahill (FG) and Larry Brennan (FF) in the Roscommon LEA; Leah Cull (SF), Michael Frain (IND), and Sean Moylan (FF) in the Boyle LEA and Domnick Connolly (FG) in the Athlone LEA.
The twelve councillors who were seeking re-election were all successful and have been returned to office.
