The Community Art Group Ballaghaderreen is hosting an exhibition at the local library to mark National Tree Week, which takes place from 9th – 16th March. The display will be open to the public from Saturday, 8th March through Saturday, 22nd March, during the library’s regular hours at its temporary location next to Supervalu.
Now in its 14th year, the Community Art Group continues to grow, welcoming new members while benefiting from the expertise of a tutor provided by the GRETB (Galway Roscommon Education and Training Board) several times annually. Old and new members alike value the guidance and creativity these sessions offer, and the exhibition showcases the result of their recent work.
Visitors to the exhibition will see a mix of artworks, including pieces created collaboratively from shared tree photographs as well as individual projects. Members explored techniques such as composition planning, colour blending, capturing light and shadow, and experimenting with various brushes and mediums like acrylics and oils. The display highlights the unique artistic voice each participant brings to their work.
Admission to the exhibition is free, and everyone is welcome.
