
King & Moffatt, an award-winning Mechanical & Electrical Contractor with over 45 years of industry experience across Ireland, the UK, and Mainland Europe, has officially opened its new Innovation and Technology Hub in Carrick-on-Shannon.
This significant development will create 50 new jobs for the area, and is supported by a €600,000 investment at Attirory Business Park.
The hub focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence and cutting-edge digital tools, positioning King & Moffatt as a frontrunner in sustainable and technology-driven construction. Co-CEO Brendan Sweeney noted the essential role of AI in their growth plans, stating, “Our goal is to reach a turnover of half a billion by 2030, and AI will be central to achieving that ambition.”

Sweeney highlighted innovative technologies, such as digital twins and smart buildings, as transformative for the industry. “AI is changing the game for our sector,” he remarked, emphasising that this strategic approach will enable King & Moffatt to thrive in a swiftly evolving global landscape.

He said the opening of the Innovation and Technology Hub would bring renewal, vigour and enthusiasm, with the creation of 50 new jobs in the locality.
The Innovation and Technology Hub was launched by Hubert Fitzpatrick, Director-General of the Construction Industry Federation. By creating 50 new jobs and focusing on technology and innovative practices, King & Moffatt is positioning itself as a leader in the future of construction, charting an ambitious course for both the company and the Carrick-on-Shannon community.
