Five All-Ireland finals at event this Sunday
The annual Ballinasloe Agricultural Show, which will take place this Sunday, 24th of September, will once again feature an impressive mix of competition, celebration of rural life, and family fun.
This renowned show, first established way back in 1829, is one of the great, traditional shows in the region, and a firm favourite with the public.
The venue is the Fair Green, and there is free, secure parking for all attending. Gates open on Sunday at 9 am.
This year’s Ballinasloe Show will feature five All-Ireland Championship finals. There will be a great array of classes for Cattle, Sheep, Horses, Ponies, etc., and the always popular Dog Show will also command much attention. In addition, there will be a variety of competitions for farm produce, etc.
Some of the highlights include: Loose Lunging for 3 & 4-year-old horses and ponies, with €1600 in prize-money (sponsored by Garbally Oil) which will commence at 3 pm; A massive Dog Show (including All-Ireland Native Breed Dog) starting at 2 pm; Cattle and sheep classes, starting at 11 am; The All-Ireland Connemara 3-year-old Filly Championship, starting at 11 am; The All-Ireland Irish Draught Filly Foal Championship, also starting at 11 am; The Irish Draught Colt Foal Championship, which begins at 11 am; The All-Ireland Donkey Mare & Foal Championship, starting at 12 noon.
There will also be classes for in-hand and ridden horses and ponies, show ponies, etc.
The Dog Show is expected to be hugely popular once again this year with an array of prizes on offer.
The annual Ballinasloe Show is always a very enjoyable event and a great place to meet old friends and enjoy a chat in a relaxed atmosphere.
