Excitement is building in Ballyforan this week, with the annual Fair and Festival taking place this Saturday, September 23rd, and presenting a jam-packed schedule of events that’s sure to have something for everyone.
The 2023 annual fair was launched earlier this month, at an event held in St Aidan’s GAA Club on September 8th. The launch was attended by committee members, local public representatives, fair sponsors, and members of the local community.
Saturday’s event will kick off with the usual favourites of the annual fair – the sheep, horse, and poultry competitions. The morning’s animal competitions will be rounded out with the much-anticipated Dog Show, which has been kindly sponsored by Petmania.
A car boot sale will be running from 10 am to 3 pm, and there will also be a best dressed lady and gentleman competition on the day.
The annual fair also has a lot of activities on offer for younger attendees, with a kids’ tractor run at 12.45 pm (bring your own tractor), kids’ vegetable planting at 11.30 pm, and face-painting throughout the day. There will also be a children’s best dressed farmer competition at 12 pm, as well as photography, art, and baking competitions.
There is sure to be something for everyone at this year’s Ballyforan Fair and Festival, so be sure to come along on Saturday to enjoy a great day out and support the long-standing event, which has been running in the community since 1759.
